There was no original paint

It is of WW2 vintage without foliage slits and has the typical ‘dragon teeth’ stitching on beach side edging

When acquired the liner was painted white with the CD

M40 #40 Restored Depiction: This helmet isM40 #40 Shell: The shell is in first class condition and is painted in grey green with a textured outer. The maker size stamp is ET64 with a lot number stamp of 752. An acceptance has been applied to the inner dome. Liner: The liner is a superb replacement M1931 helmet liner, with a zinc outer band and pig skin leather. The leather is ink marked as size 57 (57cm head size). This liner is of the highest quality; imported from the Czech Republic;
