I used saturated warm hues to make the flowers pop and cooler

Fern Flora 12x16 inches coral Women's fitWhile hiking the historic Inca Trail on the way to Machu Picchu my husband and I passed through lush rainforests. We saw large ferns that grew over the sides of the mountain's path and sprawled downwards like huge feathers. When the rain stopped I took some photos as the sun peeked through the clouds, making the water droplets that stuck to the ferns sparkle. After the trip I chose this composition to paint.
