This is a quality para liner and has been fitted with blackened brass chinstrap hangers from SOF also

The shell retains nearly all of its original olive-drab paint inside and out

There is some pitting but not too much and the outer surface is relatively smooth considering

When acquired there was no original paint to speak of

The helmet has been fitted with a superb replacement WW2 spring/webbing type khaki chinstrap with steel fittings

Brit57 This is a quality paraBrit57 Shell: The shell is an original WW2, Brititsh manufactured MkII shell with a stainless steel banded edge. The stainless steel factory chinstrap lugs are the MkIII type and are unmarked. The factory stamps are under the flare near a chinstrap lug; they are somewhat distorted by rust pitting but read 1 1941 BMB N13 (Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd Dagenham). When acquired there was no original paint to speak of; there was some rust pitting to the inner
