Best known as a cornerstone of Sun Ra's Arkestra, his appearance alongside Lee Morgan and Curtis Fuller makes this one of the more unlikely Messengers lineups on record, a brief convergence of two very different jazz worlds. Blakey had a gift for pulling in talent from unexpected corners, and this session is proof of that instinct at work. 'S Make It, recorded in 1964 and released the
