Wears like a modern backpack. This Knapsack is based on an existing Revolutionary war example. We sent one of our seamstresses on a research quest to narrow down which Knapsack we should recreate, and this is what she settled on. The original was made of a single layer of linen but we have lined ours with canvas for durability.
