Raf-1 Polyclonal Antibody, 100ul[BT-AP13531] Drug Development and Evaluation The induction of cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX2)This gene is the cellular homolog of viral raf gene (v raf). The encoded protein is a MAP kinase kinase kinase (MAP3K), which functions downstream of the Ras family of membrane associated GTPases to which it binds directly. Once activated, the cellular RAF1 protein can phosphorylate to activate the dual specificity protein kinases MEK1 and MEK2, which in turn phosphorylate to activate the serine threonine specific protein kinases, ERK1 and ERK2.

Description

The induction of cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX2) by this cytokine in the central nervous system (CNS) is found to contribute to inflammatory pain hypersensitivity

This gene has been implicated in the formation of beta-amyloid and atherosclerotic plaques by controlling the equilibrium between free cholesterol and cytoplasmic cholesteryl esters

Conjugation of arginine to the N-terminal aspartate or glutamate targets proteins for ubiquitin-dependent degradation

Specific isoforms bind to alpha-dystroglycan and to alpha-latroxin

Myocyte enhancer factor 2A can act as a homodimer or as a heterodimer and is involved in several cellular processes
