There is an Alpine feel to it, and yet, you are firmly in sunny California. Carmel Valleys limestone soils give the wine an intriguing and energetic lift. The Cabernet Franc and Malbec were harvested on the same day and co fermented. The wine was raised in neutral barrel and bottled without filtration or the addition of sulfur. There's a coniferous green note that hums along, just
