Using small pliers, I begin to tear the pages, perhaps five at a time. They tear naturally to form irregular layers resembling sedimentary rock and I can control the form I want them to take. I build up a solid block by adding more books of the same size. I fix the leaves in place using PVA glue on the page edges and replace
